Who We Are

A classroom for every child left behind

Millions of children in India grow up on streets and in settlements, far from any school. We bring learning directly to them � with patience, dignity, and the belief that education changes everything.

Our Mission

To make quality education accessible to every underprivileged and roadside child in India � meeting them where they are, removing the barriers that keep them out of school, and walking with them until learning becomes a habit for life.

Our Vision

An India where a child's circumstances never decide their future � where the girl selling flowers at a traffic signal today can become the teacher, doctor, or engineer who lifts her community tomorrow.

Our Story

It started with one notebook and one promise

In 2016, a handful of college students began spending their evenings under a Delhi flyover, teaching alphabets to children who had never held a pencil. There were no classrooms, no funding � just chalk, a borrowed mat, and an unshakable conviction that no child should grow up unable to read their own name.

Today, Shiksha Se Shiksha runs open-air and community learning centres across multiple cities, supported by a growing family of volunteers, donors, and partners. The name means education through education, because every child we teach goes on to lift the next.

We do not wait for children to find a school. We carry the school to them.
2016
The first lesson

5 volunteers, 12 children, one flyover in Delhi. The journey begins.

First learning centre

Our first dedicated community centre opens, reaching 200+ children.

2020
Through the pandemic

Distributed ration kits, radios and worksheets so learning never stopped.

Aarti's story

At eight, Aarti sold pens at a busy intersection in Jaipur and had never been to school. A volunteer noticed her teaching herself shapes from a torn advertisement. Two years later, she is enrolled in Class 4, tops her class in mathematics, and dreams of becoming an engineer. This is what education makes possible.
